Avon Valley Railway - End Of Season Gala - 21/10/12

Описание к видео Avon Valley Railway - End Of Season Gala - 21/10/12

A visit to the Avon Valley Railway for their annual 'End Of Season Gala'. Held over the 20th and the 21st of October the gala featured a variety of passenger, freight, express and local trains through the day, with a guest loco in the form of J15 Class no.7564 from the North Norfolk Railway, as well as Class 31 no.31130 who arrived on the line only a few months ago and is now part of the AVR's resident fleet of locomotives. I've decided to do something a bit different with this video, instead of doing what I usually do and editing my shots in time order, I've decided editing them by loco and do individual segments for each one.

Locos in operation during the gala were:

TKH 0-6-0T no.4015 'Karel'
RSH 0-6-0T no.7151
LNER Class J15/GER Class Y14 0-6-0 no.7564
BR Class 31 no.31130 'Calder Hall Power Station'

Shots included in loco order are:

4015 'Karel':

Making a noisy arrival into Bitton on an up passenger working from Avon Riverside, with 7564 acting as the banking loco.
Passing with a returning down passenger working from Oldland Common.
Climbing up the gradient to Bitton with an up passenger working from Avon Riverside.
Working light engine from Bitton to Avon Riverside.

7151:

Arriving into Bitton working an up freight, with a slight slip as she enters the station.
Absolutely storming through Bitton working the up 'Pines Express', definitely the highlight of the day.
Arriving into Bitton on a down passenger working then making an enthusiastic departure which then results in an off camera slip, and quite a big one by the sounds of it!

7564:

Coasting down the bank on the down local to Avon Riverside then seen working back up the bank to Bitton.
Arriving into Bitton on an up freight, with 'Karel' acting as the banker.

31130 'Calder Hall Power Station'

Sounding lovely working out of Bitton on an up local.
Rolling down the gradient to Avon Riverside with a down freight, then seen (or heard) making a lovely noise working back up to Bitton.
Arriving into Bitton on a down local and seen whilst paused in the station.
Double heading with 7151 out of Bitton on an up passenger train. Can anyone confirm whether or not 7151 has a Britannia whistle? Because it sounds an awful lot like one.

Overall it was a very enjoyable day, even if I missed a few good shots being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Hoping I can get some more shots of the J15 when she works winter services. Was also good to meetup with and bump into friends whilst there too.

Filmed on a Panasonic HDC-HS900 with a Panasonic VW-VMS2E Microphone.

Enjoy.
