The second edition of the Global Gateway Forum is taking place on 9-10 October 2025 in Brussels. This year’s event focuses on advancing global connectivity in the face of geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges. The Forum brings together high-level representatives from governments, financial institutions, the private sector, and civil society to explore innovative strategies for scaling up Global Gateway investments in partner countries.

In her opening speech, Commission President von der Leyen highlighted the profound changes in global politics over the past four years, emphasizing the need for countries to build strategic strength, reduce dependencies, and diversify partnerships in response to competitive international dynamics. The Global Gateway initiative focuses on creating resilient value chains across various sectors by engaging both public and private sectors, as demonstrated through projects like the Lobito Corridor in Africa. The forum serves as an opportunity to enhance cooperation, with the launch of the Global Gateway Investment Hub aimed at encouraging private sector involvement and fostering sustainable growth, resilience, and strategic partnerships worldwide.
