August 23 Day 21 Magic Kingdom & our last farewell to Walt Disney World as our trip comes to an end

That dreaded day has finally arrived, it’s the day we fly back to the UK.
But not before we make the most of our late flight home, and spend a last day immersed in today, yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy, in Magic Kingdom.

With a plan to squeeze as much into these few precious hours we motor around the park, starting in Adventureland. First up is a Jungle Cruise with those hilarious Skippers from the Jungle Navigation Company.

On to another mode of transport, we take flight on the Magic Carpets of Aladdin but a word of warning… watch out for the camels they spit!

All that magic sent us off into the Enchanted Tiki Room to sing along with Jose and his flock of tropical birds, whilst trying not to upset the Tiki gods.

A quick hop, skip and a jump into Frontierland. past the construction walls at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we try a train this time, taking a chance on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. That machine certainly has a mind of its own.

Alert time for a top FREE, yes FREE, to do activity in Walt Disney World. The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade is a free play shooting gallery. We had some rootin’, tootin’ giggle as we took aim and fired.

All that exertion worked up an appetite, so we snacked on a Mickey pretzel and cheese sauce in Liberty Square before enjoying a first-time attraction for us, The Hall of Presidents.

Having ticked off transport and education we head off to Fantasyland to think of a happy thought and fly off to Neverland in the Jolly Roger, yep you guessed it, Peter Pan’s Flight.

We round out the fun in Fantasyland with a ride on Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel, we laugh out loud at Donald Duck in Mickey’s Phillarmagic and head off to work on the Seven Dwarves Mine Train.

It wouldn’t be Walt Disney World without its wonderful characters, and we stop by Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus to meet the Astounding Donaldo and his pal the Great Goofini. Although after seeing Goofy’s motorbike riding skills we took our life in our hands on the Barnstormer.

Mark finally gets his ride on the Walt Disney Railroad train, from Fantasyland station to Frontierland, so we can head back into Adventureland to sail the seas with the Pirates of the Caribbean.

We end our day in Tomorrowland with the Tomorrowland Speedway and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin.

After bidding farewell to Walt Disney World, we take the short ride to Orlando International Airport (MCO) for our flight back to the UK.
