Bryophytes Plants Introduction (Chapter: Diversity Among Plants)

Описание к видео Bryophytes Plants Introduction (Chapter: Diversity Among Plants)

The term Bryophyta originates from the word ‘Bryon’ meaning mosses and ‘phyton’ meaning plants. Bryophyta includes embryophytes like mosses, hornworts, and liverworts. These are small plants that grow in shady and damp areas. They lack vascular tissues. They don’t produce flowers and seeds, instead, reproduce through spores.
The bryophytes show an alternation of generations between the independent gametophyte generation, which produces the sex organs and sperm and eggs, and the dependent sporophyte generation, which produces the spores.
