How to reset/reboot your Goal Zero Yeti Lithium generator when it stops working: A quick fix!

After my Goal Zero lithium 1000's screen backlight and 12v output ports stopped working, I figured my Yeti 1000 needed to be sent back to repair. On a lark, I started looking around on the unit for a wait to force some kind of reset or restore like you would on a laptop that had glitched out.

I tried lots of things and somehow found a hidden (or undocumented) way to reset the Goal Zero Yeti Lithium: Unplug it from the power adaptor, hold down all three front panel buttons for a few seconds, plug it back in, and give it some time to reboot. It fixed my problems, no need to mail it back for service!

Caution: I have no idea if this would cause any issues with your Yeti so use at your own risk but I’ve done it a number of times and it looks like a simple reboot of the controller software. Certainly worth giving a try if the screen or ports aren’t behaving correctly.

I’d assume this fix would work for the Yeti 400, Yeti 1400, and Yeti 3000 but I haven’t tested those. Let me know in the comments if it works for you!
