The Castlefields area of Runcorn is a large housing estate that many people from Liverpool/Merseyside moved to as well as many other housing estates built in Runcorn in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Castlefields comprised 2400 homes of which 1400 were deck access flats. All of the flats where demolished by 2014 apart from Plantation close and a smaller block called Rupert Row.
