A news article by El Paso Morning Times titled “Order to Bathe Starts Near Riot Among Juarez Women,” tells us about women's opposition to a dark history along the U.S-Mexican border: the forcible bathing of working-class Mexicans and their belongings in dangerous chemicals. Furthermore, we’ll see how a health crisis, namely the Typhus epidemic, was essential in constructing Mexicans as disease carriers and encouraged these discriminatory practices.
