My name is Nick Dual from Tra Vinh, Vietnam.
I am a full-stack web developer.
I work with Ruby, React, and Elixir.
I have 14 years of experience in web development and 3 years in my startup with another partner.
I have worked for U.S. customers remotely since 2011.
My experiences are social networks, e-commerce, live chat, and video streaming.
Now my love is Elixir, a functional programming language, an authentic language to get good performance.
From 2011 to 2015, I set up a software company with another partner to work for Americans. It was located in Ho Chi Minh City. As a small company, I did anything with a maximum of 9 developers, from coding to communicating with customers in the US as a leader and recruiting new developers. I mentored them and dealt with technique issues. I presided at daily meetings and made the right decisions for the company's development. The company used Ruby on Rails, an object-oriented programming language. I used tools such as Skype, Slack, or Google Hangouts to meet American customers and co-workers, from video chats to sharing project ideas and messaging.
After 3 years of working for customers, I set up a new startup, a big project like Facebook.
I led the team with 3 developers and one graphic designer for 6 months.
I didn't have enough finances to continue the project. I did it myself.
I rebuilt the new demo, researched new technologies and ideas on finance, marketing, and team management, wrote a business plan and pitch deck, and found investors. I defined a new Dualism philosophy to make the right decisions.
But the plan wasn't successful in Vietnam, a developing country. The startup required at least 1 million dollars. So I stopped the startup.
I'm a YouTube English teacher.
I teach Atomic International Pronunciation, my new method, how to pronounce with American English accents.
I had an IELTS certificate 20 years ago. So it's useless to evaluate my English skills now.
I'm looking for a long-term, high-quality project.
