Which are the Best Spring Maize Hybrid Varieties || Crop Reformer

Hybrid maize varieties are playing very important role in the silage production. In this video, we have highlighted those spring maize hybrid varieties which are considered as more professional for silage purpose. For example, salient features of DK 7024, DK 6321 of Bayer-Monsanto, P 1543, P 1429 and Surkhab of Cortiva have been suggested in this video.

Spring maize is planted in central Punjab on large scale especially for grain purpose. Sahiwal, Okara and Depalpur areas have been developed into production zone of maize crop. A huge acreage is planted after potato crop. Under the scenario of changing climate, we have advised the farmers to plant spring maize well in time to avoid pollen sterility at tasseling stage.
Sowing time plays a crucial role for getting better yield of a crop. It is an essential point in production technology of crops. Sometimes, early sowing of maize becomes difficult due to changing weather and climate conditions.

Fertilizers have the most important role in maize crop growth and production but they are getting more and more expensive. Maize production has become very expensive due to higher rates of phosphorus and potash fertilizers. Under the scenario of rising price of fertilizers and salt affected soil conditions, we have suggested a well-balanced schedule of acidic fertilizers. Weather conditions are normal and favorable for the growth and development of maize crop. Even then, maize crop is under stress where it has been cultivated in the new areas other than the traditional one. The most important reason may be salt stress contributed either through soil or use of marginally fit water for maize production. Use of sulpher (Kumulus or Structure-acidic NPK product of FMC) or Sulphuric acid has been suggested to open the pore spaces. Excessive irrigation or severe shortage of water may also lead to stress.
