An insight into the beach hut lifestyle at Portland in Dorset, England, including the history of the Pearce family hut. The hut has been enjoyed over the generations at this idyllic spot by the sea on the south coast of England. Weather and tides permitting, it's quite possible to live a hunter-gatherer existence here for a few days, living on a diet of fish and crustaceans - on my last visit (included here) Jonny Pearce caught a lobster of enormous proportions, an 8lb beast ! together with a couple of spider crabs.
