Finnestorp 2009

In 2009, we made an attempt to create a series of short video films about the research excavations at the Offering site Finnnestorp in the central part of Västergötland. This is the only one created (we did not obtained more money for making films). This archaeological excavation is unique in Sweden because it is the only one that has been excavated with rich finds from the centuries before the Viking Age. This time period is known as migration period. Here we have dug up fittings for exemple ..exclusive gilded swords. Beautifully crafted and decorated fittings for gilded horse equipments. A large amount of exquisitely designed fittings for saddles etc. All of these objects have been sacrificed in the wetland - in honor of the gods. Here we see the traces of heroes, kings, earls and warlords. Everything from Beowulf's homeIand. Under 2009 gjorde vi ett försök att skapa en serie korta videofilmer kring forskningsutgrävningarna vid Offerplats Finnnestorp i centrala delen av Västergötland. Detta är den enda som skapades. Denna arkeologiska utgrävning är unik i Sverige eftersom detta är den enda som har grävts ut med ett rikt fyndmaterial från århundradena före vikingatid. Denna tidsperiod som kallas folkvandringstid. Här har vi grävt fram beslag till exklusiva förgyllda svärd. Praktfullt utformade och dekorerade beslag till gyllene hästbetsel. En stor mängd utsökt utformade beslag till dåtida sadlar. Alla dessa föremål har offrats ut i våtmarken - till gudarnas ära. Här ser vi spåren efter dåtida hjältar, kungar, jarlar och krigsherrar. Allt härrörande från Beowulf´s hemland.
