One day trip from Osaka to Kyoto;

While I love how nature-filled Kyoto is, a one day trip would be enough. Here's some of the stuff we did:

We arrived at the bamboo forest around noon and it was packed. I recommend going super early morning. If you want a beautiful shot with very few people in your picture, folks have recommended going around 5am.

Outside the forest are food stalls and if you walk further down, there are many food vendors. There's a beautiful river right underneath the bridge where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the green mountains.

On top of the mountain is the monkey park. Quite a hike--especially if you go in the summer. I want to say it took me 25-30 minutes only because I stopped a few times to catch my breath.

Then we headed to the popular fushimi inari to catch the beautiful tori gates. I've gone in the evening just when the sun was setting in the past and had missed a while street of food vendors right outside. So glad to catch them this time!

Then we headed to The Gion Kyoto Starbucks, also known as Kyoto Ninenzaka Yasaka Chaya. It's set inside a 100 year old, two-story house with traditional Japanese tatami room and seating. You order your drinks downstairs and head upstairs to sit.

Kyoto is known for their matcha. I got a sample of Malebranche one day and was obsessed and made it a point to get them whenever I was back in Kyoto. It's a matcha green tea biscuit with white chocholate inside. We busted a mission to a department store.

Then after we ended the night with some good ol' Ichiran ramen!
