In this clip from the movie called The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, the dad shares a thought-provoking line with his daughter: “There was a man, much wiser than me, that once said,
"You can't add a single hour to your life, by being anxious about anything." This makes a lot of sense. I think they were referring to a religion source, and will add that below. This movie was awesome, and even not being into religion, was still enjoyable to watch. It seemed more about dealing with bully kids, to me.


From the art of intelligence, anxious worrying doesn't add a thing to your life; it just takes away the peace you have right now. Stress won't change what's coming, but it will keep you from enjoying your day. Basically, anxiety is wasted time you could have spent enjoying yourself.
The quote, "You can't add a single hour to your life, by being anxious about anything," is a common, modern paraphrase of a statement originally spoken by Jesus in the Bible, found in the Gospel of Matthew. The verse is usually rendered as: "Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" (Matthew 6:27). The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a family Christmas comedy based on the popular 1972 book by author Barbara Robinson. The most recent notable adaptation is a 2024 feature film starring Judy Greer and Pete Holmes. The plot centers on the annual church Christmas pageant that is completely upended by the Herdman children, a group of notoriously unruly siblings who crash the event and take all the main roles, including Mary and Joseph.
