Bangladesh, the rising tiger of South Asia is going faster along the road of development. With the commitment of being proud associate of the economic development of Bangladesh, Bashundhara Group was established in 1987. Since then the largest business conglomerate has been serving the country and its people. Self-reliance and sustainable energy management are the key factors of economic development. To achieve those goals, Bashundhora Oil and Gas Company Limited was established in 2005. The formal inauguration of the company took place on 22th of February in 2020. Bashundhara Well and Gas Company Limited has been built on 73 acres of land in Keraniganj, the southern part of Dhaka. Its annual feed capacity is 2.2 million and 10 thousand metric tons.This company is playing an important role in building sustainable energy capacity of Bangladesh. Currently the annual domestic demand of bitumen is about 5 lac metric tons. Yearly bitumen production capacity of BOGCL is 9 lakhs 35 thousand 272 metric tons. The demand for bitumen is increasing at a rate of about 15 percent every year. Even after meeting the total domestic demand of the country, there is an opportunity to export this excess bitumen abroad. So there is opportunity to increase the brand value of Bangladesh. It will also create an opportunity of earning foreign currency.
Another major product of fuel independence is diesel. Annual demand of diesel in Bangladesh is around 4.5 million and 97 thousand tones which once were entirely imported. Bashundhara Oil and Gas Company produces 6 lakhs 82 thousand 448 metric tons of diesel every year. The company can easily supply at least 16 percent of the domestic demand. It would certainly help Bangladesh save foreign currency. Apart from saving foreign currency, dependence on foreign countries for diesel will be reduced. BOGCL is planning to exacerbate diesel production down the road in from its plant.
BOCGL is committed in building sustainable road-communication by producing bitumen. At least five types of world-class bitumen are produced in our plant.
We are proud producer of Penetration-Grade 60/70 Bitumen. This high quality bitumen is adjustable to different weather of all six seasons of Bangladesh. This 60/70-Grade bitumen gives sustainability and excellent performance of roads.
Polymer modified bitumen is now being used across the world to make highways more durable. Bangladesh is not behind in that speed and practice. Bashundhara is manufacturing world-class polymer modified bitumen.
It is often seen on the roads or highways that small and big ditches are created due to water logging and other reasons. As a result, uninterrupted road communications is disrupted. Emulsified Bitumen of BOGCL has also come up with a good solution by producing water-resistant 10/20 penetration grade oxidized bitumen.
There is also cutback bitumen made from a combination of bitumen and petroleum. Bashundhara bitumen is marketed only after passing stringent quality control tests by skilled hands using latest technology. Bunches of worker trained abroad are working relentlessly to ensure quality of the product. Bashundhara bitumen are supplied to the customers after a total of 9-stage of testing. First the raw materials have to be passed in two different tests. One of which is atmospheric distillation and the other is vacuum distillation. One the other hand, 4-step quality control is maintained to produce world-class bitumen. Consistency Test, Empirical Test, Purity Test and Safety Test are strictly followed to produce the product.
