Abingdon , Virginia

We visit Abingdon a small town in southwestern Virginia. Only 20 minutes north of Bristol with a population of 8,376 in 2020. This quaint town encompasses several historical sites and features a fine arts and crafts scene, centered on the galleries and museums along Main Street.

The Barter Theater is a must see while visiting Abingdon. Known as The State Theater of Virginia . This historic theater presents diverse lineups of high energy plays in a beautifully renovated setting with creative productions and talented casts. We saw The Shawshank Redemption, and it was fabulous.

The Virginia Creeper trail ends here in Abingdon. We will take a tour of the trail in upcoming videos. Stay tuned for that one. It's absolutely a beautiful bike ride.
Another must see is the Martha Washington Inn and Spa on Main Street. It's like taking a trip back in time. This property has been preserved
beautifully .
