This is a video about the Steam Yacht Gondola, saved from a virtual wreck and restored to her former glory, iShe was built in 1859 by the Furness Railway Company as an attraction for the tourists they brought by train to Coniston. Now fully restored, she once again provides cruises and boat trips on beautiful Coniston Water.

SY Gondola operates on Coniston Water which is a lake in the Lake District of Northwest England. It is the third largest by volume, after Windermere and Ullswater, and the fifth largest by area. The lake has a length of 8.8 kilometres, a maximum width of 793 metres, and a maximum depth of 56.1 m. There two islands in the lake, Peel Island and Oak Island.

SY Gondola is now operated by The National Trust affording visitors a number of different tours each day during the summer months.
