In November 2016, Barengi Gadjin Land Council, in partnership with Maurizio Campanelli, held Bakang Dyakata - a traditional Aboriginal earth oven recreation event.

This annual event, held on the banks of the Wimmera River, brings the community together to cook using traditional techniques and taste native foods.

It is an example of the rich intangible heritage of Aboriginal communities in Victoria.
