The Hamad Bin Khalifa Civilization Center in Copenhagen is a center for cultural flourishing and human realization as well as a meeting place for people across cultures, religions, faiths, races, ways of thinking and attitudes. It is a space where people enter into a dialogue about Islam, not only as a religion that is rich in civilization and a deep human heritage, but also a religion that is today considered to be an integral part of many Danish Muslims' modern lifestyle.

The Center for Civilization is a space where you meet with complete openness and understanding of the other. This complete openness and understanding are prerequisites for the human, intellectual and scientific dialogue for which the center is a forum.
This dialogue aims to strengthen the basis for coexistence by building bridges between different cultures, faiths and religions in Danish society. It also aims to build bridges between different cultures in the Arab and Islamic world, especially the State of Qatar, which has contributed the financial support to the cultural center.

These positions formed a common starting point between His Highness Prince Sheik Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani and the chairman of the Danish Islamic Council, Abdelhamid Hamdi, which resulted in the decision on the financing of the Hamad Bin Khalifa Civilization Center in Copenhagen.

The mosque includes a prayer hall for men and women and a mihrab (altar), two minbars (pulpits), which are decorated with Moroccan mosaic and patterned wooden decorations, as well as plaster engravings with scriptures. The dome is placed above this, which is decorated with geometric figures and surrounded by inscriptions of the 99 names of God written in gold.
The mosque also contains other facilities such as toilets and facilities for performing wudu (ritual ablution) as well as a separate entrance and private room for the imam. There are two large screens in the direction of the mihrab. The building is handicap-friendly and there are a number of lifts and wheelchair access.

The women's prayer hall is located on top of the men's and contains an activity room for women, a small kitchen, toilets and facilities for wudu as well as a children's playroom, which is soundproofed and surrounded by glass walls, so that the children are under the constant supervision of the adults during the various activities. Elderly and disabled women can advantageously use the lift up to the women's prayer hall on the 2nd floor.
