Vidyasagar University, located at Midnapore, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal, has officially released the Second Notification for PhD Admission 2025-26 for Fellowship holder candidates only, as per PhD Regulations 2022. Through this latest notification dated 30th December 2025, the university has invited online applications for admission to the PhD Programme 2024 to 25 in multiple subjects across Arts, Commerce, Science, and interdisciplinary streams.

The online application process will start from 7th January 2026, and the last date to submit the online application form is 17th January 2026. Applications must be submitted strictly through online mode via the official university website. Candidates are required to complete all steps including personal details, academic details, and uploading of photograph and signature before final submission. After successful payment, applicants will be allowed to edit their application details up to two times within the stipulated period.

Eligibility: This PhD admission notification is applicable only for Fellowship holders. Non fellowship candidates are not eligible under this notification.

Available Subjects: PhD admissions are offered in Bengali, Commerce, Economics, English, History, Library and Information Science, Management, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Santali, Sociology, Anthropology, Bio Medical Laboratory Science and Management, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Studies, Fisheries Science, Geography, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Physiology, and Zoology. The number of vacancies or seats has not been mentioned in the official notification.

Application Fee: For Unreserved category candidates, the application fee is Rupees One Thousand only, plus applicable convenience fee and GST. For SC, ST, OBC A, OBC B, EWS, and Persons with Disabilities categories, the fee is Rupees Seven Hundred only, plus applicable charges. Payment must be made through online mode only, such as credit card, debit card, or net banking.
