!!TRIGGER WARNING!!: Sexual Assault (Minors). I have heard the allegations about the band's photographer/director (Adam Powell) and am absolutely devastated that the band had allowed this type of manipulation and assault to continue for years while keeping him on their payroll. As of today, Dirty Hit has released a statement on Instagram condemning the actions of Powell and have cut ties with him as a label, which extends to respective artists including The 1975. Moving forward, I believe that the victims of this case deserve our support as a community, and it is our responsibility as fans to create safe spaces for them and erase this monster from our ranks while also remembering the trauma he has caused, and ensuring it never happens again. If you or someone you know is a victim of Powell's harassment/assault, I stand with you and vow to uphold a channel that garners strength and support against sexual violence in every form. We as fans love this band with our whole hearts, I hope I've made that apparent in my detailed analyses in this video. I love the music, and I love the community as well, but I and others demand better from the guys. Hopefully this issue will not be swept away but rather used as a foundation to build our community into a more safe and inclusive environment.
