This is a vintage dbx 3BX III 3-band Dynamic Range Expander with Impact Restoration from the late 1980's. Its been in storage for almost a quarter of a century.
This unit restored the dynamic range of compressed music recorded on analog systems, especially vinyl records and cassette tapes. It basically made your vinyl records sound like CD's.
For you Audio Engineers and Audiophiles, Its a multi-band expander.

After pulling it out from storage, I noticed the old electrolytics leaked, as they all eventually will over time.
I decided to give it a new life by recapping and rebuilding it with all new electrolytics, diodes, voltage regulators, bridge rectifiers and anything else I find damaged due to age.
