Cool Papa Bell legged it into baseball legend as perhaps the fastest man to ever play the game. Bell played ball all year round. In addition to playing in the Negro Leagues from 1922-46, he played 21 seasons of winter ball in Cuba, Mexico and California. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974.
