The importance of Yew trees at Exbury Gardens with UK leading tree expert, Tony Kirkham MBE. Filmed as part of a series of videos to launch Exbury's New River Walk.

The New River Walk is a peaceful trail that stretches nearly half a mile at the eastern end of our 200-acre New Forest garden through tranquil coastal woodland filled with mature oaks, field maples, yews and hazels. Interpretation boards highlight interesting facts and historical anecdotes about iconic native trees and sections of the boardwalk lead to viewing points where visitors can watch birds and wildlife on the estuary’s tidal flats. Watch the introductory with Tony and Marcus Agius, CBE, here:    • An introduction to the New River Walk...

Thank you to Tony Kirkham, Head of Arboretum at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, for volunteering his time to help Exbury Gardens & Steam Railway, in the New Forest, produce this video.

Filmed in spring 2021.
