Guide to Ralph Mooney's pedal steel guitar copedant/tuning and some examples of what it sounds like and how to use it. Ralph Mooney was a unique innovator of the steel guitar, and helped define the sound of Bakersfield Country and Outlaw Country. This video covers his Merle Haggard-era set up, but when he switched to 10 strings, he just added two more low strings on the bottom, which he mainly used to thump rhythm.
