A movie studio interfering with artistic vision is no new thing – in days of old patrons made artists adjust portraits. It is of course, the remit of the payer, to dictate terms.

What’s happening more recently however, is that studios are more inclined to interfere with films that are being made, not to keep a director on task or because of a glorious new bandwagon to jump on, but because of, well, I think fear.
