The scrum teams turn a selection of the work into an increment of value during an event called sprint;
The scrum teams and stakeholders inspect and adjust the results for the next sprint.
And then the process is repeated.
Scrum implements empiricism – a scientific method that asserts that knowledge comes from experience and makes decisions based on what is observed. It is also founded on lean thinking; it tries to reduce waste and focus on the essentials. Scrum replaces a programmed algorithmic approach with a heuristic one, with respect for people and self-organisation to deal with unpredictability and solve complex problems. The key for this to work is in organised scrum roles and time-boxed events.
