Описание к видео Allergic Diseases in the Asian American Population

#eczema #foodallergy #asthma Allergic diseases are increasingly prevalent in the United States and now affect nearly 1 in 4 children. While the Asian American population is rapidly growing, little has been previously known about allergic diseases in the heterogenous Asian American population. Our recently published work has shown a high prevalence of allergic diseases in certain Asian American populations. Anna Chen Arroyo, MD, MPH, discusses the latest research findings on allergic diseases among different Asian American ethnic groups and the impact of allergic diseases in these communities.

Anna Chen Arroyo., MD, MPH, is a Clinical Associate Professor and Section Chief of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunodeficiency in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. Her research has focused on understanding early life risk factors that influence the development of allergic diseases and the epidemiology of allergic diseases, with a focus on the Asian American population. Dr. Arroyo has been awarded multiple grants, including the Stanford Department of Medicine Chair Diversity Investigator Research Award, and has published numerous peer-reviewed original articles in leading national allergy and asthma journals.
