Geoffrey Chaucer

Geoffrey Chaucer (c. 1343-1400) was an influential English poet, philosopher, and bureaucrat, often referred to as the "Father of English literature." He is best known for his masterpiece, "The Canterbury Tales," a collection of stories written in Middle English.

Chaucer was born into a middle-class family in London, England, around 1343.
