This is the first of several episodes on google tricks and google search tips. This episode of the google tricks list contains 10 google tips and tricks. These 10 google search tips and tricks will help you find the right results instead of browsing through large sets of results. These 10 google tricks you need to try, are explained in easy to understand language and with clear video illustrations.

Moreover, these google tips will help make google search an interesting task, rather than a boring one.

The 10 google tips in this google tricks list are briefly explained below:

Google Search Trick One:

The first google trick we will learn is how to search using quotes. When you search a phrase or keyword enclosed in quotes, google will return only websites containing the same keywords in the same order.

Go to www.google.com and type in your keywords within quotes and hit search. As you will see the results show only webpages containing those words and in the same order. Example "every night in my dreams".

Google Search Tip Two:

How to filter out, or eliminate, websites containing specific words.

To eliminate, or filter out, unwanted results, you can use a minus sign before the words you want removed, from the results.

Go to www.google.com, and type in the words that you want removed, with a minus in front of them, and hit search.

You will see that google removes results containing the unwanted keywords. Example "vanilla ice cream -strawberry".

Google Tip Three:

The third cool google trick is how to search something on a particular website.

To do this type "site:" followed by the website and the word you are searching for. For example "site:amazon.com microphone" will show only results containing the word microphone and only from amazon.com.

Google tricks Four:

The fourth google trick is how to get the meaning of a given word.

To do this, type "define:" followed by the word you want the meaning for, and hit search.

In our example we will type "define:demure, and hit search. This will give you the meaning of the word demure.

Cool Google Trick Five:

The fifth trick we will learn today, is how to get only results with a number or a price that falls within a range.

To do this, type the word with two periods (..) between the two prices. For example, if you want to search for cameras that fall within $100 and $500, you can type "camera $100..$500", and hit search.

Cool Google Trick Six:

The sixth trick, we are going to learn is how to get specific files instead of content.

We can do this by typing "filetype:" followed by the file extension, like PDF or PPTX or DOCX etc., followed by the keyword.

In our example, we will search for a PDF file, on a vanilla ice cream recipe by typing "filetype:PDF vanilla icecream recipe", and hit search.

Google Search Tip Seven:

The seventh trick of google tricks we are learning, is getting results having specific words in their titles.

To do this, type "intitle:", followed by the word, or type the keyword, followed by "intitle:", and hit search.

In this example, we will search for websites having scores in their titles. So we will type "football intitle:scores".

Google Search Tip Eight:

Cool google trick number eight of google tricks is how to find similar websites using google search.

You can find similar websites using google search by typing "related:" followed by the website.

In our example, type "related:facebook.com", and hit search.

Google Tips Nine:

In Google Search Trick Number Nine, we will learn how to use google search to find something, when some words in the search phrase are not known.

We can use an asterisk in place of the missing words in the phrase, and search. Google will then list out all variations of that phrase.

For example, to search for the lyrics of the song secrets, type "i need * story" within quotes, followed by lyrics, and hit search.

Cool Google Trick Ten:

Using google search trick number ten, we can search for something in a specific location, by adding the name of the city, or postal code, at the end of our search query.

For example typing "restaurants New York", or "restaurants 10001", will return a list of restaurants in New York.
