This was the first instrumental electronic piece of music I ever heard when I was a kid (on the radio of all
places). It left a big impression on me, but I had no idea what it was called. Several years later when I started collecting soundtracks I discovered it was for a film score composed by Harold Faltermeyer (Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun). The movie was ok, but the score remains one of my favorite 80’s electronic scores.

The sheet music which I’m reading here was arranged for piano solo, I thought it sounded more vivid with a synth treatment though.

Side note: I think it’s hilarious that the Japanese poster has a closeup of actress Barbara Williams’ lips as a design element. Oh, the 80s…
