Example 2.3: A simple power system is shown in Fi gure 2- 22 . This system contains a 480- V generator connected to an ideal I: 10 step-up transformer, a transmission line, an ideal 20: I step-down transformer, and a load. The impedance of the transmission line is 20 + j 60 n, and the impedance of the load is IOL30on. The base va lue s for thi s system are cho sen to be 480 V and 10 kVA at the generator.

Example 2.4: Sketch the approximate per-unit equivalent circuit for the transformer in Example 2- 2. Use the transformer's ratings as the system base.
