Werner Herzog's thoughts on The Jungle, and Difficult Projects | Burden Of Dreams edit

This edit is focused on the effect that stress and discontent can have on a persons entire outlook. Herzog sees the Jungle in a very negative way, mainly due to the fact that he was making a film which was seemingly impossible to finish. The negative emotion that comes with the difficulties of filmmaking seem to bleed into his perception of his surroundings and career choices as a whole.

'The Trials of Fitzcarraldo' is the result of an editing challenge wherein I wanted to make a coherent ∼5 minute documentary using only archive footage sourced from Les Blank's fantastic documentary, 'Burden Of Dreams' and Werner Herzog's 'Fitzcarraldo'. I wanted the result to feel like a self contained short documentary rather than simply a collection of clips from a film and it's making of, hopefully I've achieved that.
