Each year going back to 1935, the National Records of Scotland has put together a list of the 100 most popular male and female names in the country. Because of this, it is easy to track how names have fallen in and out of style across the last century.

The Daily Record has pulled together 10 rare names from the National Records of Scotland's list, looking deeper into their origins.
