Manasa Nayana has carved a niche for himself among the new generation of musicians emerging from Karnataka. Having been trained under Vid S K Vasumathi, Vid Vairamangalam Lakshminarayana, Padmbhushana Dr R K Srikantan, currently he is under the tutelage of the doyen Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr R Vedavalli.
Manasa Nayana stood first in the Junior, Senior and Vidwath examinations conducted by the Government of Karnataka. A recipient of scholarships from CCRT, Department of culture and Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy, Manasa Nayana is currently an 'A' grade artist at All India Radio, Mysore. He has performed concerts and lecture demonstrations extensively across India in various sabhas and festivals.

Manasa Nayana has been a pioneer in presenting the works of Kannada poets on the Carnatic platform. His You Tube series 'bhAnuvArada bhAvageeta' featuring the poems of 20th century Kannada poets, won critical acclaim. He also has performed widely in non-traditional spaces like schools and colleges, old age homes and has even performed in jails and remand homes.

5. Mahadeva Shiva Shambho - Revathi - Thanjavur Shankara Iyer
