LOWLAND FOLK : Will Ye Go Tae Flanders - Happed In Mist

Описание к видео LOWLAND FOLK : Will Ye Go Tae Flanders - Happed In Mist

Two Flanders-related songs have been put together here by Lowland Folk as a tribute to anyone who has ever gone to war for their country.
The spoken words are from "Happed In Mist," a powerful First-World-War song by Dundee's late lamented singer / songwriter, Michael Marra. He was inspired to write it after reading of the tragic end of Ewan Tavendale in the novel, "Sunset Song," by Lewis Grassic Gibbon.
"Will Ye Go Tae Flanders" is a Scottish ballad with it's roots in the early eighteenth century.
It's possible that it relates to Marlborough's campaigns but so many battles have been fought and so much blood has been spilled on the fields of Flanders over the centuries it's difficult to be precise.
