In November, WTO ruled in favour of Japan which had opposed the safeguard duties imposed by India on steel imports. Apart from that there have been other issues of agriculture subsidies (subsidy on cotton, wheat etc) raised by the US government. On the other hand the Indian government also has asked the WTO to look into the steel and aluminium tariffs imposed by US government.
