Today's theme: Exploring Your Story's World

Prompt #1: 5 minutes, ends at :11
List places that your character visits or could visit in the story. This could be plot related, like the bank where a heist happens or the castle where the epic battle happens. Or it could be related to backstory, like your character’s childhood home.

Prompt #2: 10 minutes, ends at :32
Take one of those places and write a scene where your main character visits it! What do they see, hear, touch, smell, etc? What’s the first thing they notice? How do they feel visiting a place like that?

Prompt #3: 11 minutes, ends at :55
Now take that same setting and explore it from the perspective of a different character. This could be the antagonist, a friend of the main character, or even an animal. What pops out to this character? Do some things look different or do they notice something the main character didn’t? Does the place invoke a different emotion to them?
