Transforming agrifood systems is crucial to tackle climate change

Agrifood systems are responsible for one-third of human-made greenhouse emissions. However, more efficient, resilient, and environmentally friendly agricultural and farming practices could reduce these climate impacts while ensuring food and nutrition security for all. Agrifood systems solutions offer a unique opportunity to curb greenhouse emissions, but more investments are needed, says Director of the Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
