Chioggia is a coastal town and comune of the Metropolitan City of Venice in the Veneto region of northern Italy. The town is situated on a small island at the southern entrance to the Lagoon of Venice about 25 kilometres south of Venice. International tourists sometimes know about it as home to one of the best beaches near Venice, Sottomarina, however, not many people come here. Chioggia is a nice day trip from Venice or a nice place to call home for a couple of nights are you explore the area.
