Led Zeppelin's "Living Loving Maid (She’s Just a Woman)" - Guitar Lesson [Song Breakdown]

In this episode, I discuss the track that Led Zeppelin never played live…Living Loving Maid (She’s Just a Woman). The track was released as the B-side single along with Whole Lotta Love on November 7, 1969. At the end of the video, I’ll tell you why I “dread” playing this song live!

Disclosure: That is me playing the guitar solo live against a YouTube backing track. I’m using my 1970/72 Les Paul into a Bognar gain pedal into my Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp.
I cover several topics: 1. It’s one of Zeppelin’s shortest pieces at 2:40 2. It was often played back to back with Heartbreaker on radio 3. How it shares similar pitches and chromatic material with Heartbreaker 4.
The riff starts with an open E and slides up to the A 5. How the chords of the riff are feather strummed and voiced 6. How the riff is one of the easiest riffs to learn and is a great beginner's “gateway” riff. 7. We discuss how the Chorus swings 8. How the band has a bit of a glitch at 0:26 seconds 9. The sus chords on the chorus and the clutch muting on the left-hand 10. The guitar solo dialogue between a sensual character and an eager “puppy dog” character 11. The difference between “listening and hearing” as you distinguish the slides, bends and picking styles of the solo 12. We demonstrate all the solo techniques as well as the hybrid picking on the chromatic climb to end the solo.
