Model Car Kit 1/24 Datsun 240Z Fairlady 1971 Safari Rally from Hasegawa | Full Build Video

I remember watching pictures of the Datsun 240Z Safari in the 1980 Tamiya Cataloque as a young teenager. This model kit was produced by Tamiya on a 1/12 scale. The Datsun was shown in the catalogue in combination with a rally team and a tool set, and I absolutely loved it. But the model kit was unfortunately not for me because it was far too expensive for me.

After 43 years, I was thrilled when Hasegawa produced the same rally Datsun 240Z on a 1/24 scale. So I immediately recharged and bought this Hasegawa model kit.

In this video, I walk you through the process of building the model kit from start to finish. For the record, this is a model kit of the winning Datsun 240Z Fairlady Rally Edition that participated in the 1971 Safari Rally with start number 11. I did make some modifications during construction, such as an open door and some changes to the safety belts.
With the intention of later placing the car in a diorama. The construction of a diorama is not covered in this video. I planned that for a later video.
