Nahid Islam, convener of the National Citizens Party (NCP), stated that the identity of being anti-discrimination or coordinated no longer exists. He made this remark during a press conference at the National Citizens Committee’s central office in Rupayan Tower, Banani, Dhaka, on Friday (March 7).In response to media questions, he said the anti-discrimination student movement has transformed into a student organization. A political party has emerged from the movement and the National Citizens Committee, so the previous identity no longer applies.He urged law enforcement to take legal action if anyone misuses the identity for unlawful activities.Meanwhile, a post on the anti-discrimination student movement’s combined private universities Facebook page announced that the use of the anti-discrimination or coordinated identity is no longer allowed. The movement’s organizational structure will operate independently if needed, but its banner has not been dissolved.
