Canada Part 9, New Brunswick, Saint Andrews|カナダ、ニュー ブランズウィック、セント アンドリュース

Day 9 and 10 of our 11 day trip to New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, Canada in September, 2023.

We left PEI to head to Saint Andrews, which is one of the best-preserved examples of colonial heritage in North America and Canada’s oldest seaside resort town, located in the southwest corner of New Brunswick. After about 5 hours of driving, we arrived in Saint Andrews. As we drove West, the weather got much improved and turned into a gorgeous sunny day. We enjoyed a relaxed stroll along the historic Water Street and by the scenic waterfront. Dinner was at Harbor Front Restaurant. We had scallops with rice and vegetables and a cheese burger with French fries. Then we stopped by McGuire Chocolate Company to get chocolate ice cream and hot Chocolate, whose rich chocolate flavor was really enjoyable. And the perfect ending of the day was an amazing sunset. It was one of the most memorable events in the entire trip.

In the morning of the second day, we had breakfast at SeeBreeze Restaurant & Patio and then visited the St Andrews Pendlebury Lighthouse, the Blockhouse National Historic Site, and the Ministers Island lookout. We did not visit the island, but at low tide, you can drive on the ocean floor to visit the historic summer home of Sir William Van Horneat. In the afternoon, we visited the Kingsbrae Garden and enjoyed walking through various styles of gardens and meeting with friendly animals and cats! We had dinner at The Herring Pub & Restaurant. We enjoyed chicken wings, a cheese burger, and fish cakes with salad. At the end of the day, we stopped by the Ministers Island lookout again to see the island during high tide.

2023年9月、カナダのニュー ブランズウィック州とプリンス エドワード島を旅した11日間。PEI を離れ、ニュー ブランズウィック州の西南端に位置するセント アンドリュースに向かいました。セント アンドリュースは、植民地時代の面影を今に残す北米の街の一つであり、カナダで最古のシーサイド リゾートでもあります。約 5 時間のドライブ後、この街にたどり着きました。西に向かうにつれ天気も回復し、最高の晴天に恵まれました。歴史あるウォーター　ストリートと美しいウォーターフロントを散策した後、Harbor Front Restaurantで夕食をいただきました。メニューは、ご飯と野菜が添えられたホタテのグリルに、チーズバーガーとポテトフライでした。その後 McGuire Chocolate Company に立ち寄り、チョコレート アイスクリームとホットチョコレートを堪能しました。濃厚なチョコレート味がとても美味しかったです。そしてその日の終わりにふさわしい素晴らしい夕焼けを桟橋から見ることができました。この旅行中最も思い出に残る出来事の一つになりました。

2日目の朝、SeeBreeze Restaurant & Patio で朝食をとり、その後セント アンドリュース ライトハウス、ブロックハウス ナショナル ヒストリック サイト、ミニスターズ アイランドを訪れました。ミニスターズ アイランドには行きませんでしたが、干潮時には露出した海底上を車で渡り、Sir William Van Horneat の歴史あるサマーハウスを訪れることができます。午後は、キングズブレイ ガーデンを訪れ、様々な様式の庭園を散策し、人懐こい動物や猫たちとのふれあいを楽しみました。夕食は、The Herring Pub & Restaurant で、チキンウィングス、チーズバーガーにフィッシュ ケーキとサラダをいただきました。最後に、ミニスターズ アイランドに再び立ち寄って、満潮時の島を見て一日を終えました。
