This is the final episode of running legacy Windows operating systems on the fish tank Intel 14th Gen PC which I configured for a friend. Today we are going to see Windows NT 4.0 and Windows Millennium Edition (ME) natively running on a modern Intel i5-14600KF CPU with an ASUS Prime Z790-P WiFi DDR5 motherboard.

SSD: M.2 Kingston 120GB SATA for Windows ME - regular Sandisk SSD for Windows NT.40

We’ll explore how well Windows NT 4.0 runs on modern Intel hardware with MPS support, there are some sound card issues that don’t occur in Standard PC mode with a single CPU. Next, I’ll test Windows ME’s performance using AHCI-enabled SSDs. Along the way, I’ll also evaluate network compatibility with my WiFi 6 router and run some late '90s and early 2000s games, showcasing how surprisingly well these legacy systems perform with modern drivers.
