Tag Team Performance Battles 4/6 @ L.O.V.E. The Red Ball 2018

The 2018 RED BALL L.O.V.E. (Living Our Vision of Equality) is an annual fashion show/runway competition that commemorates World AIDS Day.

The Kiki scene welcomes young members of the community to express themselves creatively on the runway. Winners are eligible to earn prizes and trophies, while all participants earn the respect of their peers.

This year’s runway categories are:

1) Commentator vs. Commentator “LOVE is the Message”
In a RED bowtie, create an original chant incorporating the word "LOVE."

2) OTA Realness “Looking for LOVE”
You are a contestant on “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette.” Bring it in semiformal wear with a RED rose.

3) Tag Team Vogue Fem vs. Female Figure Performance “Same LOVE”
Bring it as a same-sex couple with an identical effect incorporating the color RED. Your tag team partner must be in your category.

2 trophies, $125 per winner ($250 total prize)

4) OTA Runway “Stomping on Stigma”
Bring it in a RED shoe and an all-white bodysuit with words of HIV stigma written all over in RED.

5) Female Figure Face “Vision of LOVE”
Come as “The Lady in RED” and a seductive RED gown and RED lip.

6) Male Figure Face “LOVE Shouldn’t Hurt”
To bring awareness to domestic violence, bring it in a RED suit with a purple button-up and purple tie. RED for LOVE. Purple for domestic violence awareness.

7) OTA Legendary Face “Self LOVE”
Reggae artist and “Love & Hip Hop” star Spice broke the internet with her picture promoting of her new single “Black Hypocrisy.” The song tackles colorism within the Black community. Its message is to LOVE the skin you’re in. In all black with a washed faced, help propel that message to the Ballroom Community.

Come in a RED velvet glove. and tell a story of LOVE and matrimony. Don’t forget your wedding ring on your left hand.

Bring it as Ruby Rhod from “The Fifth Element.” Inspired by Ruby’s black velvet pantsuit and adorned with RED roses, recreate this legendary look.

3) GRAND PRIZE Realness With A Twist “Here Comes the Gride”
Part 1 Realness “The Groom” - You are standing at the altar surrounded by your heteronormative friends and family waiting for the LOVE of your life to walk down the aisle. Bring it as a groom in a white and RED suit.

Part 2 Twist “The Gride” - As you pump down the aisle veiled, little do his family and friends know gay marriage has been legalized, LOVE WINS, and there’s a man in that dress. Bring it as “The Concealed Gride” in half drag with your dress in white and your veil in RED.
