8 Ways to Use Flags in YNAB

Flags—the Post-It note of the YNAB budget. They're so simple, it's almost stupid. So then, how come we have no idea how to use them? Flags can be used a million and one different ways to enhance your budgeting game and, thanks to their versatility, there's no wrong way to implement them. Hannah shares eight common ways flags may be able to help you take your budget to the next level, from keeping a headcount your IOU's to finally putting a name to that sneaky spending habit.

*As of March 2021, you can now assign flags in bulk. To do so, simply select allllllll the transactions you want to flag with a particular color, click the "Edit" menu, hover over "Flag," and select the flag color you want to assign.
