Camping & Caravanning Club Temporary Holiday Sites - What exactly are they?

Ever heard of C&CC Temporary Holiday sites (THSs). What exactly are they? Rough camping in a field or an affordable alternative to 'proper' campsites?
here Caravan Travels take you along on our summer trip to two THSs, Milton of Crathes near Banchory in Aberdeenshire and Logierait in Perthshire. You can see exactly what a THS is like and also what facilities you get.
Thanks go to the stewards from the C&CC District Associations (DAs) who give their time to act as stewards for these sites, so that you can go away in your caravan or motorhome for just a few pounds per night.
The THSs are super friendly, some have social events, many don't, but they all offer a great alternative to more expensive camp sites.
