New YOP Camp Pilot Program Kickoff

In August 2023, CDCR launched an innovative Youth Offender Program (YOP) Camp Pilot Program that expands opportunities to volunteer for the Conservation Camp Program and encourages self-improvement and rehabilitation. In addition to educational and rehabilitative programming, camp participants receive wildland firefighter training, enhancing their opportunities for future firefighting careers. The fire camp program provides additional hand crew members for emergency response to fires, floods, and other disasters in the state. This video introduces viewers to the first group of trainees to complete training and move in to Growlersburg Conservation Camp under the new pilot program in November 2023.
