Largest Solar Power Plant in Caribbean Inaugurated

SOVENTIX GmbH, an international project developer of solar power plants, has successfully completed the first stage of construction of the solar farm Monte Plata with a total capacity of 34.3 megawatt-peak (MWp). With a total investment volume of more than 50 Million Euro of the Taiwanese investor General Energy Solutions this is the biggest project in the company’s history. With the erection and grid connection SOVENTIX accomplishes a breakthrough on its international growth path. Currently the company has a pipeline of solar parks with a capacity of more than 130 MWp ready to be build.

The solar power plant is located in Monte Plata, a region north of the capital Santo Domingo. SOVENTIX assembles 132,000 solar modules and approx. 1,000 inverters on an area as big as 65 football pitches. With the inauguration of the first stage of construction half of the solar power plant has already been put into operation. The solar farm will produce approx. 50,470 MWh per year. With this capacity the solar power plant will provide more than 40,000 people with efficient and environmental friendly solar energy.
