ASYMMETRIC SYNTHESIS is also called Enantioselective synthesis, or chiral synthesis and is a form of chemical synthesis!
Definition of Asymmetric synthesis: "A reaction in which an achiral unit in an ensemble of substrate molecules is converted into a chiral unit in such a manner that unequal amounts of stereoisomers are produced."
Or to put it more simply: "It is the synthesis of a compound by a method that favors the formation of chiral molecules in unequal amounts."

Asymmetric syntheses often are called stereoselective; if one of the products forms exclusively, the reaction is called stereospecific.
The synthesis of a compound by a method that favors the formation of chiral molecules ( enantiomer or diastereomer ) in unequal amounts is called as Chiral synthesis.

Stereoselective Reaction: A reaction in which one of a set of stereoisomers is formed predominantly. This may be further specialized into diastereoselective or enantioselective depending upon whether it is a diastereomer or an enantiomer that is being produced selectively.
